Versatile and Flexible
We can do full day or half day sessions with your classes. We can also provide teacher training/INSET. We can go right down to Reception class if necessary. Schools have bought us in for taster sessions before buying the equipment or have bought in a coach for a term's module. Some buy coaches in for after-school clubs. The ideal, though, is to have a taster day with different classes followed by teacher INSET and then have your own equipment - then you are in a position to compete against neighbouring schools.
As with the Primary Schools we can run full or half day sessions for you, running taster sessions for classes. We can also do teacher INSET. In some cases schools have bought us in to run tournaments, GCSE coaching - in some cases schools have done VX as part of the PE GCSE and have bought us in for extra work with the students.
Our National Centre of Excellence is a secondary school and we would be interested to talk to schools in other parts of the country that might wish to be a Regional Centre of Excellence.
VX is accessible to players with a wide range of physical and cognitive impairments, even without any adaptation. For others it is easily adapted. A local special school bought us in for one day a week for six weeks to run a module with their older students. They then bought the equipment and now run their own sessions. On the back of the six weeks with us, the school mentioned VX to the local School Games Organiser who then got us in to include a VX module in their Special Olympics
There are so many opportunities for VX in Universities. We are regularly brought in as part of a two-day team building programme for one large university. Others get us in for a full day as part of their PGCE or DipEd programme for future PE teachers.
We would also be keen to talk to universities about partnerships of Regional Centre of Excellence status.
