VX was launched under its former name of Rock-It-Ball in February 2006 at the Youth Sport Trust's Sports Colleges Conference.
In October 2012, as a result of the international growth, it was felt that a different name was needed - one that would translate better (or didn't need translating). This was opened up to the membership worldwide for suggestions and shortlisting. Out of that process the result was VX.
Since then it has spread through schools in the UK, is being used increasingly by Higher and Further Education Establishments. It is also being used by Health Trusts, Prisons, the Military and Youth Organisations. VX really is a sport for all!
In its short life VX has spread internationally and now has at presence in 26 countries (some more than others) of which 16 have National Governing Bodies at different levels of development. England still leads the way but other countries are working hard to catch up.

these are the two formats that are currently leading the development of the sport.

V4 - doubles
There is also a 'Quidditch' version.
Some NGBs now have clubs, leagues, and tournaments. There is also competition at international level

The sport has its own Honours and Awards - there is a Hall of Fame, a 'Legends' Gallery, an annual 'Person of the Year' and clubs have their own annual awards.
